2015 Washington Trip: from the desk of Noah Tumelty, Troop Historian
First on the trip agenda was the Capital building tour followed by the Air and Space Museum. At the Air and Space Museum the troop split into two groups to see the museum as well as have lunch. Next up was the White House where the troop stood outside the gate and we were able to take pictures and talk to a secret service agent who also was an Eagle Scout. The troop continued to the Washington Monument and took pictures and saw the World War II memorial.
The troop also saw the Vietnam War Memorial and Korean War Memorial. The best part of the trip was seeing the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Cemetery where we saw the Tomb of the Unknown Solder. It was here where we were able to see the changing of the guard and also JFK’s grave site.
